TRADITIONAL ASSEMBLY PLANK ON FRAME WOOD SHIP KIT

The Ship  :

The spanish frigate Diana was launched on the 10th March 1792. It was one of a range all of them built at the City and harbour of Mahón ( Menorca - Balearic island). For this reason the range was called "the mahonese range". Thanks of its design it could sail faster than the rest. It took part in the war against France at the catalanese coast although during the Peninsular war its base was the harbour of Cadiz. Attached to the Spanish naval forces of La Habana (Cuba) it took part in several combats against corsairs in the Antilles and sailed several times the Atlantic linking Spain with the American coasts. It was dismantled in 1833 at the shipyard of Cartagena.
